All India Citizens’ Alliance for Progress & Development (AICAPD)
A national level NGO having its headquarters in New Delhi has been working towards the upliftment of children of economically and socially underprivileged and backward people since 2003. AICAPD has especially been concentrating on the upliftment of children of migrant construction labourers and field workers. These illiterate and unskilled migrant labourers live a nomadic life which deprives them of a consistent livelihood and permanent habitat. Their children are left to their own devices all day long as the parents go to work which makes them vulnerable to drug addiction, human trafficking and social abuse. Ultimately, these children remain unskilled all their lives and become hereditary labourers, in general.
The children of these disadvantaged sections cannot attend conventional school as they are on constant move with their parents from one construction site to another. They lack basic education, live in utter poverty and while away their time as their parents are busy at work.
In addition to the above efforts, the organization has helped many children grow and find their vocation and complete higher studies. Some of them have found good placements in reputed organizations. These children are from the neighbourhood communities – children of presswalas,drivers, masons, plumbers, mali, housemaids, sweepers and casual workers who find it difficult to afford normal schooling because of financial constraints and other pressing household demands. Today, these successful youths are contributing immensely in realizing the dream of those children similar to their childhood background by becoming volunteers and funding various AICAPD programmes.
AICAPD firmly believes that by providing systematic Elementary Education up to class VIII and subsequently giving skill based vocational education can go a long way in helping them stand on their own feet and support themselves and their families by their own earnings.
AICAPDs prime objective is to set up INNOVATION MOBILE SCHOOLS, INNOVATION NIGHT SCHOOLS, INNOVATION MODEL SCHOOLS and INNOVATION MOBILE LIBRARIES which will target the children of deprived sections of the society all over the country.
